Mariah Carey – Maternity Clothing Designer

I have nothing against Mariah Carey but it makes me really annoyed that each time a celebrity gets pregnant she wants to design a maternity line. Mariah is just another famous woman who believes she can be a designer and her maternity clothing will be the best for fashion-conscious mothers-to-be.

mariah carey

Mariah Carey, who has recently revealed she is expecting her first child, is so happy to be pregnant that this new state inspires her to design a range of maternity wear.

She told WWD:

It makes me really want to design a maternity line.”

I would be quite unfair to Mariah if I said this is going to be her first attempt to express herself in the fashion sphere. The signer is already in the process of establishing her own fashion line for cable channel Home Shopping Network (HSN). The line will feature the 40-year-old’s favorite butterfly print on clothing, footwear and jewelry that promises to be rather affordable.

Miranda Kerr Pregnant For Vogue Australia January 2010 Cover

Miranda Kerr appears heavily pregnant on the cover of Vogue Australia January 2011 issue. Very pretty, very feminine and in some way sexy, Miranda poses in an Alex Perry design – a black floor-length dress richly embellished with sequins and stones.

Photographed by Carlotta Moye, Miranda Kerr looks great at other photos for Vogue Australia January 2010. The light white dress is fantastic.

Scarlett Johansson – GQ ‘Babe of the Year’

To tell you the truth I haven’t expected to see Scarlett Johansson in GQ but as it turns out I should have. GQ ‘Babe of the Year’ appears on the cover of the December 2010 issue as well as on a number of photographs inside the edition.

scarlett johansson gq

Scarlett Johansson looks pretty at the pictures for GQ wearing nothing but a skin-tight lycra dress or a flesh-colored bodysuit. The Iron Man II star gazes alluringly into the camera but for me she doesn’t look as sexy as she herself thinks. With her long blond locks cut now she is no longer a sex symbol for me.

Paris Hilton’s Upcoming Swimwear Range

Paris Hilton has already tried designing and some of her projects were rather successful. Her latest venture is a swimwear range she has been working for a while. We haven’t heard anything about the collection yet but a few pictures have already leaked the Internet. And it’s Paris herself who promotes the upcoming range.

One of the swimsuits Paris has posed in resembles the sexy red piece Pamela Anderson became famous for. Paris’s version isn’t as provocative but looks glamorous.

Another item from Paris Hilton’s swimwear collection must have been inspired by an American flag. The socialite accessorized the bikini look with Sixties-style white-rimmed sunglasses and an oversized bag from her own collection.

Paris also modeled a black and white striped swimsuit which revealed a lot of her cleavage.

Paris Hilton’s first swimwear range is to hit the stores next year.

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards – Luxurious Red Carpet Fashion

You already know who the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards winners are. Now it’s time to talk about red carpet choices of celebrities who attended the ceremony.

carey mulligan

Carey Mulligan, who was named the Best-Dressed Woman of the Year by Harper’s Bazaar magazine, opted for a gorgeous Chanel dress from the French label’s Fall/Winter Haute Couture Collection.

Leighton Meester

Gossip Girl starlet Leighton Meester looked wonderful in a custom-made Prabal Gurung dress. She was the visual proof of the fact Prabal Gurung deserved his award.

Zac Posen Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian arrived at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards with designer Zac Posen wearing one of his fabulous designs – a floor-length blue gown with a colorful pattern in front.

Yvan Mispalaere Diane von Furstenberg

Diane Von Furstenberg looked luxurious in her white knee-long dress and a fur coat over it. To finish her look the designer chose a pair of golden heels and a pretty clutch.

pamela love

Pamela Love’s dress looked amazing – very feminine and sophisticated.

mary kate ashley olsen

The Olsen sisters opted for their usual fur coats. They should definitely be more imaginative with their outfits!

Lyor Cohen Tory Burch

Accessory designer Tory Burch also attended the ceremony of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. She wore a tight-fitting floral-printed dress.

keri hilson chris benz

Keri Hilson’s option for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards looked great. Her assymentrical printed dress did attract attention.

karlie kloss

The dress Karlie Kloss appeared in at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards was very beautiful by itself. But sincerely speaking it didn’t look impressive on the model. A woman with curves would look better in it.

Jacquelyn Jablonski Thakoon Panichgul

The same thing I can say about Jacquelyn Jablonski who donned Thakoon creation to the ceremony.

chanel iman

Chanel Iman was wiser in choosing a dress for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards than her fellow models. The Altuzarra creation looked fantastic on her.

Blake Lively

Another Gossip Girl actress, Blake Lively, also rocked Chanel design from the latest 2011 Spring/Summer Ready to Wear Collection. The see-through dress looked very sexy.

christina ricci peter som

Christina Ricci strutted the red carpet with designer Peter Som and wore one of his elegant designs.

alexa chung

British model and TV host Alexa Chung also attended the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. As usual she opted for a vintage look. By the way, Alexa is in the running to be named London’s style ambassador at the British Fashion Council’s annual gala on December 7. Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress – Designers’ Sketches

I just couldn’t stay away from the trendiest topic in the world – Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage. People talk and discuss the proposal in every tiny detail and the engagement ring history is now known to everyone. But what I’m much more interested now is the wedding dress the future Queen is planning to wear to the altar.

prince willian kate middleton engaged

The dress has to be gorgeous as the bride is. So, the lucky designer Kate Middleton chooses to create the most important dress of her life will be under great pressure but so much privileged. There are some rumors it’s going to be Daniella Issa Helayel, Kate’s favorite designer, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

kate middleton's wedding dress

Now there are many designers who are ready to offer their services to Kate Middleton, including Elizabeth Emanuel who designed Princess Diana’s wedding gown. Her vision of Prince William’s fiancĂ©e’s wedding dress is interesting to look at. It’s feminine, elegant and truly sophisticated. The design isn’t pompous and looks fabulous. But that’s just my opinion.

wedding dress designer sketches for Kate MIddleton

Among other designers who have already sent Kate Middleton their sketches we find such names as: Ben Delisi, Uffe Frank, Sassi Holford, Jacques Azagury and others. All of these are British of course. But I wonder if Kate would be allowed to wear a gown created by overseas designer, Vera Wang for example. I know it’s against the tradition but it’s Kate’s wedding, right? Can’t she make her own choice?

Tokyo Street Fashion Wear Style

In the middle of the 19th century the capital of Tokyo started emulating Western fashion. Till the beginning of the 21st century it has altered much into so called ‘street fashion’. This term is used for describing a mixture of traditional and current trends. Generally such wear is home-made but the material for it is purchased at usual stores.

In the last years Japanese hip-hop has influenced the mainstream fashion industry in Tokyo. The youth in Tokyo is imitating popular hip hop stars starting from the way they dress to the darkened their skin using ultraviolet rays, this is usually attained by tanning.

One of the most popular street styles Tokyo teenage girls prefer is a Lolita Fashion. There are different substyles of this trend: Gothic Lolita, Sweet Lolita (very childlike style), Punk Lolita and Classic Lolita.

Girls wearing tie-dyed sarongs, mini-skirts and brightly colored wear are in for Ganguro style.

Cosplay (“costume roleplay”) are also very popular on the streets of Tokyo. Besides these styles one has to admit Visual Kei (with clear makeup and odd hair style), Kogal (high school uniform with shorter skirts), Dolly Kei (adopting traditions of European fairy tales and the Middle Ages) and Bosozoku (emerged from Japanese media such as manga and anime).

Tyra Banks’s Wearing Style

This is not a secret that Tyra Banks has become a fashion icon for many women, both afro-americans and white. Her perfect wearing style, intuition and taste help her to combine clothes in a right way and to look fabulous.

She is not simply a model; she is an excellent actress, who makes even boring dress look brilliant on her body. The root of this lies in her attitude towards life, wearing style and of course in skillful impersonation. The last is the most important, as this is the main quality of a real model – to make dress talk!

All Tyra’s dresses talk. But the matter of fact is that they talk exactly the thinks Tyra wants! In this article we’ll try to master this amazing art and Tyra Banks’s wearing style.

Tyra likes black color. Black means gorgeous, austere and… makes you look slimmer.

Tyra has wonderful bronze skin color. The best she can do is to emphasise it with the dress color. And so she does it by wearing golden and buff.

The best way to show all the sweet forms of your fabulous figure is to fit them close.

The best decision for formal occasions is a pantsuit. Tyra Banks knows it all right and chooses elegant and at the same time peculiar pantsuits.

Tyra is fond of jeans. Usually she wears them for casual occasions. Jeans are perfect for her fine legs. Fitted, bell-shaped and narrowed all look fantastic!
