Royal Wedding: Prince William and Kate Middleton honeymoon island costs £45,000 a night
Prince William and Kate MiddletonNewlywed Wills and Kate’s secret honeymoon island costs a staggering £45,000 a night to hire.
The figure – which would add up to £450,000 for their ten-night stay – emerged after the name of the island was revealed by the German businessman who organised the holiday.
Farhad Vladi, who runs his own private island estate agency, confirmed details of the couple’s Seychelles hideaway to a Hamburg newspaper.
“Yes, we rented the island to the British royal family,” said Vladi. “Prince William and Kate are spending their honeymoon there. But you will understand that we are not saying anything further.”
The British media have not reported the exact location of the royal honeymoon in order to respect the couple’s privacy.
Wills, 28, and Kate, 29, flew to the main airport in the Seychelles by private jet on Tuesday. They then took a helicopter to the tiny island where they are enjoying the peace and quiet in a secluded villa.
The archipelago, a “Robinson Crusoe” paradise off Madagascar, is surrounded by crystal clear waters.
It was not clear last night who was picking up the bill or whether the royal couple had received a discount.

Royal honeymoon: Prince William and Kate Middleton to get around Seychelles island on old bikes
Prince William and Kate are relaxing in the SeychellesPRINCE William and Kate will get around their idyllic honeymoon paradise on two rickety old bikes.
The royal couple have snubbed an electric golf buggy in favour of cycling side by side on the unspoilt island in the Seychelles.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be completely alone on the sun-soaked isle apart from a few staff.
And Wills is set to catch fish for their meals as the couple enjoy a luxury back-to-nature honeymoon for two weeks.
A source said: “William wants Kate to be completely relaxed and for it to be just the two of them. This is the perfect place.
“They hope to turn off their mobiles, shut out the modern world and reflect. This will be the ultimate relaxing break for them.”
The Seychelles are a tropical paradiseThe honeymoon to the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean – revealed yesterday by the Mirror – is a first for royal couples who have traditionally posed for photos while spending at least part of the break in Britain.
We are not naming their island hideaway but Seychelles tourism minister Alain StAnge was “delighted” with their choice.
He added: “They will want some peace and quiet and there couldn’t be a better place for them to find it.”
Wills and Kate flew to the main airport in the Seychelles on a private jet from their home in Anglesey. They then took a helicopter to the tiny island where they will sleep in a villa. These can cost up to £6,000 a night and islands can be rented for tens of thousands of pounds a day.
On William’s £36,000 salary it would take him years to save for such a luxury break.
Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson broke her silence over her wedding snub by telling US chat show host Oprah Winfrey: “It was so hard because the last bride up that aisle was me.”

Prince William thanked by judge he airlifted off mountain after heart attack
Prince William is back at work after the royal weddingA RETIRED judge who was the first to be rescued by helicopter pilot Prince William after his wedding thanked him yesterday.
Nick Barnett, 70, had a heart attack while hill-walking in Snowdonia.
He said: “I’m grateful to Prince William and the crew and the member of Llanberis mountain rescue who came to my aid.
“The winchman did a wonderful job, as did the whole helicopter crew. You see all the documentaries and it all looks hair-raising. Until it happens to you, you don’t appreciate their skill and bravery.”
Flt Lt Wales flew the ex-Hong Kong High Court judge from the mountainside to Bangor hospital in North Wales after he collapsed on Wednesday.
Mr Barnett, a father-of-two from Midhurst, West Sussex, said: “I didn’t set out to be rescued by Prince William. My family and friends are all stunned.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton to be Beckham baby guests in July
Prince WIlliam and David BeckhamPrince William and Kate will be among the first guests to meet David and Victoria Beckhams’ new baby daughter.
The newly wed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in Los Angeles on the July weekend David and Victoria’s little girl is due to be born.
And it is possible that proud Becks, whose friendship with William runs much deeper than has previously been thought, may even ask William to be godfather to the baby.
The eyes of the world will be on William and Kate when they carry out their first overseas engagements as a married couple when they travel to Canada on June 30.
The Canada tour has been extended to take in a trip to California between July 8 and July 10, when Becks will be playing in an LA Galaxy football match.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are likely to sit in the VIP stand at the city’s Carson stadium alongside Victoria – unless she goes into labour with her fourth child, a sister for boys Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, six.
And the royal couple will visit the Beckhams at their sprawling mansion in Beverly Hills.
William and Becks forged a strong friendship when they worked together on England’s failed 2018 World Cup bid.
Sources say the pair have been in touch frequently since.
“They are always texting each other,” said a source. “People haven’t realised quite how close they are.
“Despite their different backgrounds, they got along really well during the bid.
“And seeing as William and Kate will be in LA, it’s highly likely they will visit the baby.
“David may even ask William to be a godparent... you never know.”
Meanwhile we can reveal the new baby will NOT be named after a place.
Becks and his wife are said to be torn between a fashionable American girl’s name such as Alyssa or Morgan, or a more traditional British name like Amelia or Grace.
Victoria held a baby shower for an array of A-list friends this weekend. Guests included close pal Tana Ramsay, wife of TV chef Gordon, and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.
It is believed the newlyweds will attend a Hollywood party during their three-day visit to Los Angeles after their tour to Canada. Wills, who is president of Bafta, is also keen to promote the British movie industry in Hollywood, where the couple are expected to visit a film set.
They will also meet former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
A provisional itinerary for their whirlwind US trip includes a whistle-stop tour of giant redwood trees in Yosemite National Park, the Big Sur coast and a poverty programme. It will be the first time William has visited the US in an official capacity, and the only time Kate has ever been to the country.
Before the California trip the couple will visit Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Alberta and the North West Territories, staying for Canada Day on July 1.
This week President Obama told Prince Charles on an official US trip he had been mesmerised by the royal wedding.
